Study Room Policy

  

In general, study rooms B & C can be reserved for group use.  Room A can be reserved for group computer use only.

To reserve a group study room, contact the library circulation desk. Reservations can be made in person or by phone (708-974-5235).

In extraordinary circumstances, exceptions may be made to these scheduling guidelines.  If you think extraordinary circumstances warrant a exception, please see Maria D'Aversa for approval.

Scheduling guidelines

Which rooms can be reserved?
In general, B & C can be reserved for group use.  A group with more than 12 participants can reserve both rooms simultaneously. Because Campus Operations must be called to move the room divider, advance notice is needed to open rooms B & C into one large room.
Room A can be reserved for group computer use only.

Who can reserve a room?
Moraine Valley faculty, staff, and students.  Rooms are for group use.  Rooms will not be reserved for only one person.

When can a room be reserved?
Reservations can be made no more than 2 weeks in advance.  Reservations cannot be made for the day of the request.

Today is March 1.  I want to reserve a room for March 6. Allowed
Today is March 1.  I want to reserve a room for March 20. Not allowed.  This is more than 2 weeks in advance.
Today is March 1.  I want to reserve a room for this afternoon. Not allowed. Reservations are not taken for the day of the request.

How long can a room be reserved?
A maximum of 2 hours.

What happens if the group does not show up?
If the group that reserved the room does not arrive within 15 minutes of the reservation time, the reservation is presumed to have been cancelled and the room is available first-come, first-serve.
