There are eight mandatory on-campus lab meetings. They will take place in C 168 from 6:30 pm to 9:10 pm on 1/20, 2/3, 2/17, 3/3, 3/24, 4/7, 4/21 and 5/5. Students are also required to take all exams on campus at the testing center.
Scientific methods, biochemistry, cellular biology, cellular reproduction, classical and molecular genetics are covered with an emphasis on processes. Fee is required.
The section listed above is a classroom/online course. Classroom/online courses require attendance at some on-campus sessions, though much of the work for the course is done online. Students must be able to stick to a schedule and work independently. Students must have college level reading and writing skills. Late assignments will not be graded. The mandatory labs cannot be made up and credit for the course will not be granted if the labs are not conducted.
Students should be self-disciplined, have a reliable email account, and know how to send an email with a Rich Text Format (.rtf) or Microsoft Word (.doc) attachment. Students should be able to create and open documents using a word processor, and effectively manage computer files and folders (copy, save, back up, etc.). Any student requiring additional help may visit the campus to work with the instructor or tutor.
